Have your say! [3]

Dear Editor,

As the former treasurer of the 1890 Leas Lift Step Lift Carriage Restoration Appeal I wish to update the readers and donors of the latest developments.

Libertas, insolvency practitioners, acting for a construction and joinery business formerly based in Ramsgate which went into voluntary liquidation in October 2010, report that this firm took with them £3,500-worth of publicly donated money that our former Chairman paid, with good intentions, to this company in June 2009 in order to initiate work on the 1890 Leas Lift carriage wooden top.

Recent correspondence from the receivers confirms that although the Chairman's claim was sent in on October 3, 2010, "it is unlikely that there will be a distribution to any class of creditor".

All documentary references regarding this claim for £3,500 can be viewed at Folkestone Public Library in the Heritage Room upon requesting Box 188B, The Leas Lift Step Lift Carriage Restoration Appeal.
