A dream wedding at the Kent County Council's Dover Discovery Centre turned into a 'nightmare' for a Dover couple reports the Mirror.

Peter and Michelle Rogers suffered a 'series of clangers' including having to wait two hours for a Registrar to arrive for their 2.45pm ceremony and the photographer then informing them it was too dark to take any pictures.

KCC promote the wedding saying, 'Your wedding day is special to you and to The Kent Registration Service. 'Simply Perfect' Kentish Weddings are unique wedding ceremonies provided by the county council at the ceremony venues it provides or licences across the county'.

Mr and Mrs Rogers now want compensation from Kent County Council.

A Kent County Council spokesman reportedly said: “Due to a communication breakdown our staff did not arrive in time to marry Mr and Mrs Rogers at the agreed time.

"We are very sorry for the distress we caused and we have written to them to convey our sincere apologies.”
