The Christmas Special was very busy and the atmosphere great, with the
W.I. singing Carols and Ben Milberry’s group entertaining us. Santa and
his Elves were kept busy too!
Hopefully most of you obtained your free
lucky draw ticket. This was drawn on 3rd January at the market where
there were 35 lucky winners receiving vouchers to spend at the market.
(their names listed below). A Grant from the Kent Farmers Market
Association provided the funds for this venture. If you have won, you
will have been informed by now.
We would like to thank everyone who helps with the setting up, clearing
up and running of the market each week throughout the year, it is so
appreciated, thank you all, no names mentioned as I should hate to leave
anyone out by mistake, and they know who they are! However, I would like
to add a separate thank you to Trish and Dave Durrant who kindly donated
a box of red wine, with which our mulled wine in refreshments was made.
We now enter 2012 on a quieter note! The first months of the year are
always quiet, as some stallholders take a sabbatical – but please don’t
despair, they will be back, and we will still have all the basics and
more to offer. In addition we are still seeing new stalls arriving, the
latest being a vegetarian stall (Veggie Bites).
Before Christmas we also
had a stall selling fruit liqueurs which went down very well, and they
plan to return on a semi-regular basis. Due to family problems Mauritian
Exotic Foods have pulled out temporarily – they hope to return in the
Spring.
We now have a new idea for you – Vouchers are available to purchase to
be spent at the market on any stall. They make a great gift for someone
who has ‘everything’! They come in quantities of £2.50 so you can buy as
many or as few as you wish.
We are also, along with the whole village, celebrating the Queens
Diamond Jubilee on Tuesday 5th June 2012 when we will be open for an
extended Market from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
If you have anywhere you could display a poster for us, please let us
know, it would be greatly appreciated. Posters can also be downloaded
from our website

Independent Living Kent answering questions and offering assistance, she
plans to return again soon.
