Rachel Webster, the Shepway Befriending Coordinator at Voluntary Action Within Kent said that it is extremely difficult to recruit anyone at the moment and they are inundated with referrals from young people.
Participants are aged between 8 and 18 years of age and the
the group are looking to recruit volunteers aged 16 and over who live in Hawkinge and
the surrounding areas to support and be part of the project.
Rachel Webster said: "No experience is required as all
training and support will be given, so if anyone can spare up to two
hours a week, enjoys meeting new people, having fun and would like to
help a young person engage with their community, please telephone the
Shepway Befriending Co-ordinator at Voluntary Action Within Kent on
07702502408 or 01303 247852 or email
rachel.webster@vawk.org.uk [4]
for more information.
"All expenses are paid."
