St George's church in Ivychurch is one of five venues chosen for Art in
Romney Marsh 2011
Festival: which runs until October 9 2011.
Five Medieval churches host films, soundscapes, shifting imagery,
text-based installations, music and performance, ranging from drawings
posted on Google Maps and added to the fabric of St Peter and St Paul,
in Newchurch, to a floral flourish at All Saints in Burmarsh, where 800
years of lovingly arranged flowers are celebrated with elaborate vases,
quirky paintings and a frock coat shaped from laundry and dust lint.
Where the ongoing delights of the nearby Folkestone Triennial take a
global view, Art in Romney Marsh is keeping things local.
