"Final
preparations are under way to make this year’s fete the most enjoyable
yet," said Hythe Venetian Fete Society chairman John Schoner |

“Everything is going to plan and we look forward to wowing spectators of
all ages with a wonderful afternoon and evening of colourful spectacle,
entertainment and live music," said John.
“The organising committee has worked hard over many months on plans to
ensure that fete day arrangements go with a swing. The not-for-profit
Hythe Venetian Fete Society is grateful for their time and expertise as
well to the organisations which are taking part in the procession of
decorated tableaux and also, of course, to the more than a hundred other
volunteers who will be busy on fete day carrying out the many varied
tasks on which the success of this much-loved family-fun event depends.
“We acknowledge, too, the support of our sponsors, who, despite the
difficulties of the economic situation, have contributed very generously
to the entertainment programme and also to the funds which are essential
to stage the event."
But John has one worry over which he has no control: "Our sincere
hope is that the weather will be kind," he said, "on fete day, and also for the five
free concerts on the canal bank on preceding days, so that spectators
and performers will have a really great time."
