Shepway residents will be able to talk about Police issues in their community, to an officer online during an internet 'beat meeting'.

People living near Folkestone and in the Hythe area will have the opportunity to take part in the discussions from the comfort of their own home next Tuesday evening (2 August 2011).

Anyone wanting to join the online beat meeting can log on and members of the police neighbourhood team will be waiting to take questions and talk about the work of the police in their local area.

Those living in Stelling Minnis, Elham, Lyminge, Sellindge, Etchinghill, Postling, Newington and Hythe East are invited to join in and talk online to PC Carly Farrow and Community Support Officer Laura Zazo.

Those taking part don't need to register to watch or take part in a conversation, just log on during the meeting and post a question. The session starts at 7pm.

The team will answer as many questions and cover as many topics as possible in the meeting.

Laura explained: “This is another way to contact us. We appreciate that not everyone can attend meetings or meet us during the day. We hope that people will log on – perhaps from home or even using their phone if they are out and about.”

If you are concerned about any policing issues in your community, contact your local neighbourhood officer. To find out who it is, visit www.kent.police.uk  and enter your postcode.
