I would like to add to the comments of Don Veale about the marvellous football facility now available for youngsters in Hawkinge.

I recall when I was on the Parish Council years back, negotiating the purchase of the land for the pitches, wondering if it would all come to fruition.

It's credit to the Parish Council, in particular Cyril Trice in the early stages, that over the years the project has developed to the now available good playing surface and pavilion.

No doubt the coaches can develop a few players good enough to bolster the England team.

Here's hoping.
