Dear
Editor,
What a
great example the striking teachers from The Churchill School set for
the pupils this morning (30 June), by picketing outside the school gates. |

Some of them even seemed to be enjoying themselves in the sunshine - I
wonder how many would have been there if it had been pouring with rain.
Many tax-paying parents were forced to make alternative arrangements for
their children, at short notice. Some having to use holiday or go
unpaid. Then to have to drive past a bunch of smiling teachers on
picket duty just rubs salt into the wounds.
And what message does this set for my 10-year-old son - if you don't
get your own way, then strike?
As I understand the Government are still negotiating with the unions, so
why strike now?
Would it be so they can strike before their 6 weeks of holiday start?
Yours
Darren
