Gurkha campaigner Peter Carroll is urging people to support a website campaign to save the Gurkha Regiment.

Writing on the website set up by Mr Carroll, Lynne Beaumont and Howard Cox he wants people to spread the message.

He said: "Part of the British Army for nearly 200 years, the highly effective and loyal Brigade of Gurkhas based in Folkestone in Kent could be one of several UK based regiments sacrificed as a result of a Coalition Government dispute about defence funding.

In order to show the Government there is significant opposition to this approach please add your support by completing the on-line petition which shows you are against the proposal"

Click to visit the website to sign the petition.
