A Dover photographer has scooped two top prizes in a St George's Day Photo contest organised by Folkestone Town Centre Management.

Karol Steele, from Buckland Avenue in the town, won two first, one second and one third prize in the contest judged by Folkestone photographers Dan Desborough and Matthew Ebbage.

The prizes were awarded at the special St George's Day and Easter event in the town precinct on Saturday.

All the photos in the contest are now on display in Shadow Artworks in Guildhall Street and will also feature in a future issue of the Discover Folkestone, Hythe and Romney Marsh visitor information booklet.

Karol, who was born in Folkestone,  moved to Dover when she married.

She said, "I have maybe a unique perspective on what makes Folkestone special. Being born and raised there I know where to find all the unexpected gems of the area, but living in Dover I can look at them the way a tourist would.
