old from Hawkinge has been singing the praises of the East Kent Stop
Smoking Service after kicking the habit in just eight weeks.

Hawkinge villager Janet Kingsbury had smoked since she was 14, but was
told she needed to give up smoking as she was due to go in to hospital
for an operation.
With the help of her son, Janet was referred to a Stop Smoking Advisor,
who guided and supported Janet to give up smoking.
Janet used patches initially but found the one to one support crucial to
her being able to give up.
Janet said: “The way I was treated was fantastic, I was not judged and
given all the help I needed. I was treated as an individual and the
service I received was first class.
"I would recommend the East Kent Stop Smoking Service to anyone””

I managed to stop smoking over 10 years ago thanks to the East Kent Stop Smoking Service. I have since had to have a hospital operation and was so glad that the outcome was not put at risk by my still being a smoker. I now only feel sad at the number of young people I see who continue to ruin their health and waste their money by smoking.
