Active Shepway is all about getting active, not in a scary lets pump some iron sort of way, but more of a lets get groups, sports clubs and families who are interested in sport, well being, health and fitness.

Active Shepway is a group of volunteers, council officer’s sports club leaders, and councillors who meet once every two months to discuss funding opportunities, events and project ideas across the district.

And they are looking for more members.

The next big free event is Step Up Shepway: Fit For 2012, a sports and health seminar on Saturday 19 March at Folkestone Academy.

Delegates will  be able to take part in workshops and sports demos, as well as listen to a motivational speaker and sports industry professional.
