A new organisation has just been set up to help struggling small businesses in Folkestone.

Folkestone Independent Traders Association (FITA) is a not for profit association aimed at promoting the independent small business and service sector in and around Folkestone, Kent.

It is entirely controlled by its membership on a self-help basis and is not affiliated to any other commercial or political organisation.

Publications include the Folkestone Shopper and eventually the online Folkestone Shopper website.

Membership is free but donations, which will be used for FITA, are welcome. Accounts will be published openly.

Membership is solely at the discretion of the existing membership

The first issue of Folkestone Shopper is being rushed out for Christmas on Saturday 10th December 2011.

Application forms are available from Lacies shop at 127 Dover Road, Folkestone CT20 1NL or email sue@fantasygirl.co.uk
