Dear Editor,
I totally oppose any cuts to local radio stations, I always listen to Radio Kent and Radio Essex and love their individual shows such as gardening tips, country music and more.

To cut and standardise these stations in a similar way that commercial local stations have been ruined will be a travesty.

Please reconsider destroying local radio, perhaps a few cuts at the top and less money to the so-called BBC stars would be a better way of saving money and cut Radio 1.

These stations are at the heart of local communities and are important and as the nation faces cuts and more cuts.

Let's try not to rip out the heart of the BBC, which after all is at local level and not world service like some at the BBC believe.
