Fire crews wearing breathing apparatus rescued three elderly residents at a Folkestone residential home in the early hours of this morning (19 December).

Three fire appliances were called just after 3.00am to tackle the blaze which broke out in a bedroom at the residential home in Lennard Road, Folkestone.

The elderly residents were rescued by fire crews wearing breathing apparatus and treated by paramedics for smoke inhalation.

The cause of the fire is under investigation but is not believed to be suspicious.
