Neighbourhood officers have been out in Lydd this week reassuring

village’s Coronation Square on Sunday afternoon, (11 December). |

Police
say an altercation took place between a 61-year-old man and a teenage
boy outside the shop which resulted in the man sustaining head injuries
in a fall. They have stated that at this time there is no evidence of a
weapon being used.
The 61-year-old man drove himself home, the emergency services were
called and he was taken to the William Harvey Hospital at Ashford where
he was treated for a laceration to his head.
He has
since been discharged from hospital.
Sergeant Jazz Bloomfield from Kent Police said: “Although initial
enquiries suggested that the man was the victim of an unprovoked attack
we are now looking at the possibility that it was a disagreement that
got out of hand.
“However, we are still actively investigating the incident and we would
encourage the community not to speculate until we have completed our
investigation. And we ask anyone who saw what happened or has
information to contact us on 101 or Kent Crimestoppers anonymously on
0800 555111 quoting crime number ZY/2871/11.”
