A driver has been airlifted to a London hospital following a crash in Folkestone today (1 December)

Police were called at 11am to the accident involving a taxi.

The 66-year-old driver was removed from car and taken to the Royal London Hospital by air ambulance.

A police spokesperson has said that it is understood that he is not as seriously injured as first thought.

The road was closed until approximately 2.45pm.

Police say it is unclear as to exactly what happened.
