The number of high-speed Javelin trains from Dover and Folkestone which
whisk commuters to their desks in London are to be cut next summer. |

The service between Kent and the capital is to be dramatically reduced
due to the 2012 Olympic Games.
High-speed trains will continue to run from Ashford and Faversham but
Folkestone, Dover, Canterbury, Ramsgate or Margate services will be cut.
The Javelin trains are to be used as a shuttle service between St
Pancras, Stratford and Ebbsfleet International stations.
Train operator, Southeastern Trains explained that the high-speed
shuttle service was part of London's bid to secure the Games in 2012 but
it would be compensating high-speed commuters.
Other mainline services into London will be generally unaffected.
