Recently we held our annual Len Charles Cup Competition when members
show up to 15 images, of any subject as long as they are connected,
along with a commentary. |

14 members entries were shown and it proved to be a difficult task in
finding a winner. Judged by our own members the winner of the Trophy was
Kevin Harvey
We have taken part in two Battles recently, one being the 10-Way (10
Clubs participating) Battle of Prints at West Malling, and the Diamond
Jubilee Trophy for Digital Images with 17 clubs taking part at Detling.
Unfortunately we did not win, but it is good to see other clubs work,
and there were some brilliant images, the competition is very strong.
On 8th March we viewed the “LONDON SALON 2009” Exhibition. Our annual
opportunity to witness the work of photographers who work beyond the
limits of club photography. This can often inspire our members, and we
are introducing our own Folkestone Salon soon, to see our own
interpretations.
Next week we have another Battle, this time with just one club,
Sittingbourne, and our last Digital Image Competition of this season the
following week.
The Kent County Photographic Exhibition is to be held at Maidstone soon
and 11 of our members prints have been accepted. Marie-Laure Stone DPAGB
BPE2* has received a Commended for ‘Proboscis Monkey, Borneo’.
We will be hosting AN EVENING WITH CHARLIE WAITE One of the nation's
leading landscape photographers comes to The Tower Theatre, Folkestone
on Saturday 27th March, see our website for further details on how to
obtain tickets.
