Plans for a food store on land currently used as the Hawkinge Community Centre car park have been submitted to Shepway
District Council. |

The application by Edinburgh Land Estates for a
10,000 square foot food store, would have customer car and delivery lorry access from
Heron Forstal Avenue. It would have parking for 45 motor vehicles.
The company made a previous application in July 2009 but it was declared
invalid.
In the new plans, the food store customer parking has been reduced by
32 from an original figure of 77 spaces.

On the land which would remain and is currently used for parking at the
Centre, the plan indicates there would be just 8 spaces remaining for
visitors and staff which includes those working and visiting the Post
Office.
Hawkinge Parish Council will be debating the proposal at their monthly
meeting on Wednesday 10 February 2010.
Villagers are welcome to attend the meeting which begins at 7.30pm in
the Community Centre.
Details of the application can be seen at the Hawkinge Community Centre,
where the plans can be inspected on display boards in the foyer. |
