Minutes of the meeting held on 14 July 2010 were submitted, approved as
a correct record and signed by the Chairman.
858. CHAIRMAN’S COMMUNICATIONS
The Chairman thanked the Events Committee for it’s hard work in the
staging of the Hawkinge Fun Day 2010. He said that the day had been a
great success and very well attended.

The Clerk circulated the schedule of payments to be made following the
meeting. A copy of the schedule is attached as Appendix 1.

860. PLANNING MATTERS
1. The minutes of the meetings of the Planning and Development
Committees of 19 July, 2, 16 and 31 August 2010 listing the planning
applications received since the last meeting of the Council were
presented at the meeting, giving details of the responses for
endorsement, sent to the District Council by the Planning and
Development Committee.

car park (to be shared with Community Centre) access and landscaping.

Outline application for a mixed use development comprising of 5800 SqM
of (B1/B8) business units, 3 two storey office buildings (B1 use)
totalling 5960 SqM of accommodation, and a retirement village (C2 use)
providing 69 cottages, 52 apartments and associated administrative and
facilities building, together with access and indicative landscaping
with all other matters reserved for future consideration.

Mixed used development comprising the erection of 4, three storey blocks

48, two bedroomed apartments above, together with associated access,
parking landscaping and open space.
The Chairman presented both of the applications as they closely related
to each other.

The minutes of the Finance and General Purposes Committee of 25 August
2010 were presented.

864. CHRISTMAS CAROL CONCERT ARRANGEMENTS – UPDATE
REPORT: On 14 July 2010, the Parish Council considered arrangements for
the above. Councillor Tearle said that he was arranging a Christmas
Concert for the Community Centre and would put together a programme for
the Parish Council Concert, this would include costings. The three local
primary schools have been invited and Selsted School have responded
saying they are unable to attend this year.
Councillor Tearle said that he would contact the two primary schools and
include them in the programme which he was currently putting together.
Councillor Heasman would arrange for the refreshments as in previous
years.

865. CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING ARRANGEMENTS – UPDATE
REPORT: On 14 July 2010, the Parish Council considered arrangements for
the above. Councillor T Hutt said that he was unable to lead on this
project this year. Arrangements have been put in place for a local
contractor to undertake the necessary arrangements for the lighting of
the tree, within the budget set aside for this project.
