Police have seized 200 cannabis plants from a bungalow in a Shepway
village following an investigation by a former Hawkinge police officer.
|
PC Trevor Moody, Neighbourhood Police
Officer for Elham and Stelling Minnis
became suspicious about people seen in
the area and organised a search warrant
to be carried out.
Police searched the bungalow in Ottinge
near Elham on Thursday (17 September) and
discovered the cannabis plants and
various equipment used for cultivation.
They also discovered cables leading into
the property from a nearby electricity
pole and called out EDF who said it was
extremely dangerous and could have
caused a serious fire.
The cannabis plants and equipment have
been taken to a local police station to
be destroyed safely and police have
launched an investigation.
