Community and voluntary groups looking for help with projects which will benefit the area can apply for grants up to £5,000.

Dover District Council and Kent County Council have allocated funding to the Dover District Neighbourhood Forums to give out small grants for capital projects in the local community.

Local voluntary and community groups in Dover district, especially those that have not applied to Neighbourhood Forums before are being encouraged to apply. The application process is straightforward and advice and assistance is available.

Successful projects last year included new equipment, building works, and stage and security lighting.

Application packs are available from Emma Carey or Anne Charman (Sandwich Area only), or can be downloaded from DDC website at www.dover.gov.uk/neighbourhoodforums/funding.asp

For more information about the Small Community Capital Project fund, please contact: Emma Carey, KCC Community Liaison Manager, on 01622 694599; or Anne Charman, KCC Community Liaison Manager (Sandwich Area only) on 01622 696389. The closing date is 30 September 2009.
