I would like to point out that no member of the Ryan family was approached about this and they have no endorsement from the former members of the Cheriton and Morehall Carnival Committee or Mick Ryan's (the late founding Chairman of the Association) family.

Neither have they invited any member of the family or former committee to be in attendance at their selection contest.

Despite what I consider is an appalling breach of etiquette and lack of common courtesy, I would like to wish them luck in their endeavour to reinstate the carnival, and hope that they adhere to the traditions of family entertainment, charitable support, and community activity that my father set forth for the association in 1987 and was maintained throughout the 16 years of its existence.
