Re: Bus service is failing passengers

I am pleased to report that Stagecoach Buses have now responded to the overcrowding problems on the no 16 bus.

A relief bus was provided at 8.08 this morning but I suspect that it is a case of shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted as far fewer passengers were at the stop than in previous weeks and the relief bus was empty.

Presumably these passengers are driving/being driven by car.

What a shame the situation could not have been addressed sooner.

Freedom Pass increases bus ridership

KCC has been in touch with Stagecoach about the bus overcrowding on the no 16 bus. Stagecoach confirms there has been some overcrowding but that it is now 'confident' there is enough capacity in the right places.

The Freedom Pass for 11 - 16 year olds has been very popular but as it covers all bus routes it's only when school term starts that it's clear whether there are enough buses.

I raised the problem of the no 16 bus as soon as it was raised with me and I am happy to have confirmation that an extra bus has now been provided.
