The Hawkinge Gazette and Channel Coast News website (HGCCN) is a community news and information portal and is operated under the domain names of hawkingegazette.co.uk and localrags.co.uk.

Your use of, and access to, the website constitutes your agreement to the Terms of Use set out below and any other terms set out elsewhere on the HGCCN. The HGCCN may amend the Terms of Use at any time.

Content on the Website

Content on the HGCCN is protected under international laws relating to copyright and trade marks. You must not use the content in any manner or for any purpose that is unlawful or in any manner which violates any right of the HGCCN. You must not edit or otherwise modify, copy or otherwise reproduce, transmit or otherwise distribute any of the content except for a purpose which would reasonably have been intended by the HGCCN. Nothing contained on the HGCCN constitutes the grant of a licence or right of use of any trademark or logo displayed on the HGCCN with the exception of any open source trademarks and logos.

Booking Advertisements

Nothing on the HGCCN constitutes an offer for the preparation, placement, or publication of an advertisement. No guarantees are provided regarding the availability of placement. Rates quoted are not binding on the HGCCN. Any person who wants to place an advertisement must contact a Hawkinge Gazette and Channel Coast News (GazetteOnline) representative in order for rates to be finalised and final bookings to be confirmed.

Rates and Specifications

HGCCN does not guarantee the accuracy of the content. All rates and specifications are subject to change at HGCCN sole discretion and without notice. All planned editorial content, including features, sections and special reports to be published in the HGCCN is subject to change or cancellation without notice.

Indemnity

Each person using or accessing any part of the website indemnifies HGCCN proprietors, employees and agents against any action, claim, loss or expense arising from their use of the website.

Letters and Comments

Any article, letter or comment considered to be abusive, libellous, pornographic, racist, threatening, or other posting which the HGCCN considers would bring the HGCCN into disrepute or for which a justifiable complaint has been made will be removed immediately we are made aware of the posting. Comments posted on stories may, if the Editor considers the comment to be of particular interest to the readership, be published as a letter to the Editor.

Letters to the editor may be edited at the discretion of the HGCCN. The sender of any correspondence may request it be removed from the website at any time..

The Hawkinge Gazette and Channel Coast News (HGCCN) will not under any circumstances publish letters from anonymous authors. We must have a valid Email address or home address. If the author wishes to withhold their name, the published letter will be signed - name and address supplied. Anyone wishing to know the identity of the author must contact the Hawkinge Gazette and Channel Coast News (HGCCN). We will then approach the author to see if they are willing to have their identity disclosed to everyone or to the person requesting the information. Only with the agreement of the person requesting information would we disclose the name of that person requesting the information, to the author.

Correspondence where the Editor considers there to be a personal attack or abuse of another individual, group, party or business will only be published if the senders name is used.

Letters which are considered to be possibly libellous or threatening will not be published under any circumstances.

Liability

HGCCN does not accept any liability for loss or damages (including for any indirect, special, economic or consequential loss or damage) incurred by any person as a result of reliance on the content or any other information incorporated into the website by reference. This limitation of liability applies regardless of whether the loss or damage was caused by negligence or otherwise and whether or not the HGCCN was aware or should have been aware of the possibility of such damage. The Content is provided on the basis that all persons accessing the website undertake the responsibility for assessing the accuracy of its content and that they rely on it entirely at their own risk. To the extent permitted by law, all other representations, conditions or warranties, whether based in statute, common law or otherwise, are excluded. Liability of HGCCN for any breach of a term or condition implied by law is limited to the supply of any service again or the payment for the cost of having any service supplied again.
