After just five days of rehearsals you would expect even the most polished, experienced and professional theatre troupe to experience problems with technical hiccups and line fluffing.

The annual Folkestone Book Festival returns from the 5th to the 13th November with an exciting line-up of events to be announced including book-related family events

The line up for the next show on Saturday 25th September at the Lanterns in Rendevous Street is now complete. Tickets are £9 or £15 with Chilli.

A live music and performance Seaside Festival is happening on Sunday (5 September), but you will need to be quick to grab one of the 60 tickets up for grabs.

At Howletts and Port Lympne you can see hundreds of animals in natural and expansive grounds.

If you remember that great Irish Band, The Furey's top twenty song  'When you were sweet sixteen', this could be the night out for you.

Folkestone will be hosting a festival of Ska music which will see the coming together of many Ska bands and DJ’s over the weekend of 3rd, 4th and 5th September 2010.

Over the summer holidays, Shepway District Council is hosting play events in locations all over the local area and on 19 August the playtime arrives in Hawkinge.
 

Another fantastic free outdoor cinema event is returning to Connaught Park - following a ‘squeak-quence’ of successful films over recent years - and ‘Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel’ (U) will be showing in the Dover park on Friday 27 August.
