Clothing collections

Posted by editor on Mar 17, 2009 - 07:57 AM
NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH - LATEST NEWS

Neighbourhood Watch have issued the following warning:-

Door to door collections

A number of people have informed us of the clothing collection company that has been leaflet dropping in both the Dover and Shepway Districts saying they will be collecting on Tuesday.

Can I just remind you that these companies are making these clothing collections for their own gains and the clothing does not go to the Third World as the leaflets infer.

Please remember your local charity shops, where you know that the items will go to good cause and use.

Can I ask you to make your elderly and vulnerable neighbours aware of what these collections are all about.

Bag sellers

We have also had the bag sellers in both Districts in the last week.

Again another reminder these people are not atoning for their wrongs through the Probation Service as they say. The Probation Service does not run such schemes.

These are people again doing this for their own gains. Do not let them into your homes. If they knock on your door or you know that they are in your area please make your PCSO or KCC Warden aware.

Again, please reiterate this message to your elderly and vulnerable neighbours.
