Lyminge Dramatic Society 'On tour with Variety 2009'

Next month sees the Lyminge Dramatic Society take its Summer Variety show on tour.

Lyminge Dramatic Society – Variety 2009

Preparations are under way for our Summer Variety show to be staged in May.

Always a popular event, the show will comprise songs, comedy sketches, monologues and dramatic pieces and will be suitable for the whole family.

As usual, we will be “on-tour” performing one night only at the following venues:-

Saltwood Village Hall Friday 8th May

Hawkinge Village Hall Saturday 9th May

Lyminge Village Hall Friday 15th May

Elham Village Hall Saturday 16th May

All the performances will commence at 7.45pm and as usual, the proceeds from the Saltwood performance will be given to Pilgrims Hospice. More news next month about when tickets will be available.

Please make a note in your diary for what promises to be a fun evening.

‘Allo ‘Allo, it's time for French fun

Listen very carefully, I will say this only once!

Yes, Café Rene will be created in Lyminge Village Hall from Wednesday 9th April to Saturday 12th April when Lyminge Dramatic Society’s production of the hilarious play Allo ‘Allo will be performed.

Penned by the same writers who wrote the popular BBC TV series, Jeremy Lloyd and David Croft, the play will be directed by Pete Raine and includes all your favourite characters from the TV series.

Tickets at £7.00 each are on sale at Haxtons Estate Agents, Lyminge (01303- 863393) and Senior Citizens are welcome free-of-charge at the dress rehearsal on Tuesday.

All performances commence at 7.45pm.

Hurry, the cabaret will be starting shortly – just don’t mention the Fallen Madonna…………..!

Lyminge Dramatic Society presenting 'Allo 'Allo

Yes, I know I said that I would say this only once, but it is worth repeating.

Our April production is the hilarious play version of that popular BBC TV series, ‘Allo ‘Allo.

Written by Jeremy Lloyd and David Croft, the play will be directed by Pete Raine and includes all your favourite characters.

It will run from Wednesday 9th April to Saturday 12th April in Lyminge Village Hall.

Tickets go on sale in late March.

This really is one not to be missed.

Lyminge Dramatic Society – Cinderella

Tickets for the Lyminge Dramatic Society's pantomime Cinderella will be going on sale at Haxtons Estate Agents, Lyminge on Saturday 3rd November.

The Society’s production of that much loved, magical pantomime, Cinderella,  will take place in Lyminge Village Hall.

This will be a traditional pantomime suitable for the whole family and will require plenty of audience participation - oh yes it will!

Performances will run from Wednesday 28th November to Saturday 1st December at 7.45pm and there will be matinees on Friday at 4.45pm and Saturday afternoon at 4.00pm. Senior Citizens will be welcome free of charge on Tuesday 27th November at 7.45pm.

Telephone bookings will be possible from the 5th to the 17th November and these tickets will be reserved for collection at the door pending payment received at Haxtons by the 17th November. Please make cheques payable to “Lyminge Dramatic Society”.

Get ready to boo, hiss and cheer and book early for what promises to be a super, fun - packed show!

Cinderella production is under way

The pantomime has been cast, set design is under way and the pantomime horse is busy rehearsing her dance routine.

Rehearsals for the rest of the cast will start next month for the Society’s production of that much loved, magical pantomime, Cinderella, which will take place in Lyminge Village Hall during the week of 26th November.

Wilde look at fashion, manners and morality

Rehearsals have begun for the Lyminge Dramatic Society’s Spring production, Oscar Wilde’s satirical assault on nineteenth-century fashions, manners, and morality "The Importance of Being Earnest". 

First performed in London in 1895, this timeless comedy has captivated audiences ever since. 

The play is to be staged from Wednesday 21st to Saturday 24th March in Lyminge Village Hall commencing 7.45pm. 

Tickets will go on sale on Saturday 3rd March at Haxtons Estate Agents, Lyminge. We have a special offer for tickets for the opening night only Wednesday 21st, tickets being sold at 2 for the price of 1. 

Also, senior citizens will be able to see the dress rehearsal free of charge on Tuesday 20th March at 7.45pm.

Make a note in your diary for what promises to be a classic production.

JUST THE TICKET FOR ALICE

Tickets are on sale at Haxtons Estate Agents, Lyminge for the Society’s production of Lewis Carroll’s magical, classical story “Alice in Wonderland”. You will meet all your favourite characters in this much loved story which all the family will love.

The production is to be staged from Tuesday 21st to Saturday 25th November in Lyminge Village Hall commencing 7.45pm and there will be a matinee at 4.00pm on Saturday 25th.

Alice in Wonderland

LYMINGE DRAMATIC SOCIETY - ALICE IN WONDERLAND

Lyminge Dramatic Society’s production of Lewis Carroll’s “Alice in Wonderland” is to be staged next month.

The set is nearing completion, props and masks are being made and the costume makers are burning the midnight oil making all the costumes required. 

Directed by Barbara Harris, it promises to be a magical production and you will encounter all your favourite characters in this much loved classical story. 

The production is to be staged from Tuesday 21st to Saturday 25th November in Lyminge Village Hall commencing 7.45pm and there will be a matinee at 4.00pm on Saturday 25th. Badges will also be on sale along with the tickets and at the Post Office. This production will be one not to be missed! 

Tickets will be on sale on Saturday 28th October at Haxtons Estate Agents, 

There will be a limited number of free-of-charge tickets available for Senior Citizens for the Tuesday performance which must be collected from Haxtons in the usual way.

Please note that the Youth Drama Group still meets from 6pm to 7.30pm on Friday evenings at the Lyminge Methodist Hall.
