The 'try before you buy' sessions will include sculpture, filmmaking, silversmithing and textiles and will be run between 10am and 1.30pm. Hawkinge Primary School
FRIENDS OF HAWKINGE PRIMARY SCHOOL
A message from Chairperson Mrs Tracey Doughty
The Hawkinge Primary School PTFA is a very active group of parents and teachers whose sole aim is to organise fun fund raising events to enable the school to purchase additional items for the enjoyment of the children.
Not every event makes masses of money but a sense of community and working together to ensure better facilities is evident.
Hawkinge Primary School is an established school, having been the centre of the village for 120 years and therefore funding for new items is not always available from the Local Education Authority. However, the present Headteacher and her staff work hard to achieve all that is possible for the children.
The Friends have actively supported the school's ideas for improvements and will continue to raise funds from numerous events.
Over the last year alone we have purchased a new fun trail, a train and station house area and safety flooring to name a few. All of these items are solely for the benefit of the children and enhance their outside play areas.
We are always looking for new ideas and helpers to run our events. If there are any parents/grandparents of pupils who would like to contribute their time or ideas please contact the school office on 01303 892224 and leave your name and contact telephone number
Thank you
