Folkestone Camera Club meeting - 17 March 2009

We recently held our 5th digital image competition of the season. Judged by Glyn Bareham LRPS CPAGB . Although our club does not teach photography, we do learn on these occasions from the judges comments. Glyn also gave his tips on how we could improve the image we have taken. Due to the large number of images entered, the Monochrome digital image section has been included on the Print competition night.

New members are still coming along too, so we hope they will continue into the next season.

The London Salon Exhibition was shown last week, which always provokes many comments and discussion.

 

This week we are hosting a Battle with Herne Bay Camera Club so that should be a good evening seeing other clubs work.

 

Next week will be our 5th Print Competition of the season, with the 6th Digital Image Competition the following week. We are also competing with
Canterbury, Deal & District, Gateway & Isle of Thanet Camera Clubs for the EURO TUNNEL CHALLENGE TROPHY next week.

Friday will also be our monthly Practical evening, where members can practice with the studio lighting.

Our meetings are held at the St. Georges Church, Audley Road, Folkestone (on the corner of Shorncliffe Road, opposite West Station) on Mondays at 7.45pm.

Last week we held our Len Charles Trophy competition were a maximum of 12 related images are shown along with a commentary, We had 6 interesting entries, and the overall winner was Monica Stringer with her presentation on India. On the 2nd March we will be hosting the 5th Digital Image competition of the season.

On the 28th February we will be hosting a full day Audio Visual Workshop presented by Ian Bateman LLP FRPS MPAGB where over 70 will be attending from clubs around Kent.
