Kent residents are getting ready for a right Royal knees up at the 140 street parties across the county celebrating the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

As part of celebrations to mark The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, Communities are invited to bring a picnic to celebrate the occasion with family and friends at Dover Market Square.

The Chairman of Dover District Council is arranging a Community Tea Party for local residents to come together to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, and to share their memories of the Queen ascending to the throne and of the Coronation.

Hythe Town Council is preparing to hold a 'Party in the Park' to mark the Diamond Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

To commemorate the Royal Wedding, children of Dover College Infant and Junior School have had three themed days; a red, white and blue day, Kings and Queens day and on Thursday a Brides and Grooms day.

Many local residents will be able to celebrate the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton in style on 29 April after Kent County Council agreed to waive charges for street parties on quiet residential roads and cul-de-sacs.
