Churchill School in Hawkinge raises standard at latest Ofsted inspection

Ofsted inspectors have marked up The Churchill Primary School in Hawkinge at their recent inspection, which took place during this month's heavy snowfall on 2–3 December 2010.

KCC issue guidance to help schools stay open during bad weather

With more bad weather expected into the New Year, Kent County Council (KCC) revised its guidance to schools earlier this year to help head teachers and governing body chairmen make advanced preparations so they can open as usual.

Dover College pupils go festive to raise money for Charity (Photos)

Churchill School decision to stay open during snow makes national headlines

The decision by headteacher Jennie Carter at The Churchill School in Hawkinge, to stay open during the heavy snowfalls last week, has made the national press and brought a favourable response from an Ofsted spokesman.

New Head for Dover College appointed

Gerry Holden, currently Headmaster of Rendcomb College in Gloucestershire, is to become the new Headmaster of Dover College from September 2011, the school has announced.

Folkestone Primary Academy triumphant in football tournament
