Former Folkestone Mayor asks why Council are determined to waste £75,000 on parking consultation

The Labour Party in Shepway has issued an open letter to Councillor Robert Bliss, asking him to axe the Council’s £75,000 consultation procedure and instead respond to the result of the forthcoming referenda on December 8th.

Folkestone parking proposals are no benefit to you or me

The only benefit I can see will be the new 'Owner' of the rights to chase and inflict a target driven approach to the issuing of PCN (parking fines).

The reputation of Shepway District Council (SDC) in 'consulting' and then going ahead with its own ideas anyway is at the root of protests against the 'parking consultation'.

My immediate reaction to Eleanor, who demanded in her comment that Folkestone shoppers have free bus travel, was to ask how she thought a free bus service would be paid for.

Bringing the community together at Dover Civic Service

The Chairman of Dover District Council has welcomed the success of the Civic Service held at the Church of St Peter and St Paul in River on Friday 21 October, and thanked everyone who came along and helped to bring the community together for the service.
