It's vintage comedy and music at the Hawkinge Community Centre, in October with a special appearance of 'legendary' comedian Jimmy Cricket.

Special events this month include a Darts Exhibition by top player, Kevin Painter and the ever popular Kas will be celebrating VJ day at the Burma Bash. The kids are also catered for with an exciting programme of holiday events.

Business is booming at the Hawkinge Community Centre according to the latest set of accounts announced at the AGM on Monday (20 June), but a black cloud hangs over its future viability.

The directors of the Hawkinge Community Centre Charity are appealing for more local people to get involved in this community project and for members to put themselves forward for places on the board of directors.
