A woman in her mid-thirties and a child were rescued unharmed by fire crews after their vehicle ended up in a water filled ditch.

The Dover Lifeboat and a Canadian Naval vessel were alerted by Coastguards following notification that an Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon (EPIRB) had been activated off the Coast near Sandgate this afternoon (12 October).

The Queen's personal representative, The Viscount De L’Isle, MBE, Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant for the County of Kent has presented the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service to members of the Folkestone station of the National Coastwatch Institution (NCI).

A man and his dog have been rescued from high cliffs in Kent yesterday evening (25 August) after the animal fell from the top and the owner attempted a lone rescue of his pet.
