The Shepway village of Elham beat off stiff competition for a prestigious title which was announced at a special awards ceremony at Dunkirk, near Faversham on Thursday (13 October).

Nominations for the £1450 worth of prizes to be awarded to the winners of this year's H G Well Festival Writers' Competition were announced on Friday (23 September) at a Literary Tea Party at the Grand.

A Dover photographer has scooped two top prizes in a St George's Day Photo contest organised by Folkestone Town Centre Management.

An eight-year-old from Dover is set to go places after winning first prize in a colouring competition run by Dover Visitor Information Centre (VIC) with National Express coaches.

Young artist Jack Gibbs won a family coach ticket to travel anywhere in the UK, for him and his family.

The national competition which was run by VIC with local schools earlier this year invited youngsters to colour in a picture of a coach on its travels.
