Fire: Police investigate 'suspicious' fire at Dover Road flats in Folkestone

Kent Police is treating as suspicious a fire at flats in Dover Road, Folkestone on Sunday night (12 February 2012).

Officers were alerted to the fire by the Kent Fire and Rescue Service at 11.15pm.

The fire was in a communal area of the ground floor and damaged the power supply to the building.


No-one was injured.

Some of the 31 people living in the 15 flats have chosen to live with friends until the power is restored. The others are staying in their homes and are being supported by Shepway District Council.

Anyone with information about the fire is urged to contact Kent Police on 101, giving reference ZY/4051.
