Police want to hear from anyone who saw a struggle between a man and woman in Grasmere Road, Kennington, Ashford early on New Year's Day.

A 46-year-old Ashford woman was walking home from her Ashford town centre cleaning job when she noticed a man following her along Canterbury Road and Queens Road at about 4.30am.

In Grasmere Road he grabbed her from behind, she managed to wriggle out of his grip and he apologised.

The woman was very shocked but not injured.

The man was aged 25 to 30, wearing a grey hooded top, white T-shirt with writing on and grey tracksuit bottoms with stripes down the legs.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information is urged to contact 01303 289453.
