Kent Police arrest four people following diamond smash and grab

Detectives investigating a smash and grab at a jewellers in Deal High Street on Wednesday afternoon, 18 January 2012, have arrested four people.


Police were called to the shop at 4.51pm after a report that two men on a motorbike had pulled up outside, used a hammer to smash the window and grabbed a handful of diamond rings before making off.

On Thursday 19 January 2012, police arrested a 21-year-old man, a 20-year-old man and a 30-year-old man on suspicion of burglary. A 23-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods. All four are from the Dover area and are currently in police custody.

Police continue to appeal for information about the incident. Anyone with information is asked to phone Kent Police on 101 or Kent Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 quoting reference number KP-20120118-0954.
