Kent Police is appealing for information after two men were assaulted in Folkestone on Thursday afternoon (25 August.)

Officers were called to a flat in Dover Road at 4.50pm after reports that a 42-year-old man had been stabbed in the abdomen.

He was airlifted to King's College Hospital in London where his condition was this morning described as stable and not life-threatening.

In another flat in the building a 40-year-old man was found with minor cuts to his back. He was treated for his injuries at hospital and was discharged yesterday evening.

Officers are carrying out house to house enquiries and examining CCTV footage

Acting Detective Inspector Shaun Creed from Folkestone Police Station said: 'We are still trying to establish a motive for the two assaults but don’t believe at this stage it was a random attack.

'We have carried out house-to-house enquiries and are looking at CCTV footage. There are also many forensic lines of enquiry to be looked at.'

Police have issued descriptions of two offenders as both white men aged between 17 and 25. One had short brown hair and was of a medium build and about 5ft 8in tall. He was wearing a blue T-shirt with a bloodstain on the front.

The second man was shorter and had black or dark brown hair. Both men may have taken off their tops before making off from the building on foot. Police believe a third offender, a white male aged between 30 and 35, may also have been involved.

Acting Inspector Creed said: 'We are appealing to anyone who was in Dover Road yesterday afternoon and may have seen the offenders either arriving at or leaving the flats to contact us immediately as any information could be vital.'

Anyone with information is asked to call Kent Police on 01622 690690 or Kent Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
