Sue, I was about to add comment on your previous 'serious' Folkestone debate to really impress you, but I see you have spread your attention to wider issues.

As you mentioned earlier, with three multi-millionaire landowners carving up Folkestone between them and a firmly entrenched single party District Council, the tide of progress in Shepway will only flow one way.

SDC have previously announced that they need to maximise income from available resources. That puts building land at both Hythe and Folkestone seafronts in the front line for development.

That is the way it has always been and the way it will probably always be in this region. Money talks and voices in opposition will only be heard when they are the majority voters.

We all know the financial issues affecting local and national decisions.

It is up to the current minority political parties to come up with sensible, repeat sensible and viable policies which in just four years time could help turn the tide.

But crying in the wind is not going to help anyone, so will the Greens please stop going on about the environment and face up to reality.
