To mark the lead up to Armed Forces Day, the Chairman of Dover District Council and the Town Mayor of Deal are inviting community representatives to a flag raising ceremony at the entrance to Deal Pier starting at 10.15am on Monday (20 June).

The ceremony will include speeches from the Chairman of Dover District Council, Cllr Sue Nicholas, and the Deputy Town Mayor of Deal, Cllr Eileen Rowbotham, and a flag raising at 10.30am.

This is one of many events being held across the country to mark the lead up to Armed Forces Day on Saturday 25 June. The day is an annual opportunity for the nation to show support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community.

For more information on the event, please contact DDC on (01304) 872003 or for more details on Armed Forces Day, please log onto www.armedforcesday.org.uk
