Despite four new members out of a total of nine elected representatives on Hawkinge Parish Council following the May Election, the councillors holding the top jobs of Chairman and Vice Chairman remain unchanged.

David Callahan remains as Chairman and Tony Hutt as his Vice after they were both elected unopposed at Wednesday's meeting (18 May).

Two of the new members, Rob Lawford and Barry Fletcher took their seats at the meeting but David Monk, who is also a Swingfield Parish Councillor and a Shepway District Councillor, and Grahame Ward did not attend the meeting.

Apologies for absence were received from both councillors .
