Our last meeting of this season was held on 9th May when we held our new Folkestone Salon competition.

Each year we view the London Salon entries which are from Photographers all over the Country, but which are slightly more ‘arty’ than we are used to.

We decided that we would try our hand on a similar vein by holding a Folkestone Salon competition where members can give their own interpretation, away from the ‘run of the mill’ photography. We had a great evening seeing some superb shots, which were judged by local artist Shane Record.

We had 91 entries and Shane commented on 20, giving Commended to 2 images, Highly Commended to another 2 and finally a trophy for the winner, Brian Weatherley.

Next week will be our Presentation evening where members receive their trophies for the various competitions held throughout the season. Then finally the Annual General Meeting will be held on 23rd May.

The new season will commence on 5th September.
