Sport England's Inspired Facilities Fund which is offering community sports groups in Kent more than £400,000 of Olympic legacy funding to improve facilities has awarded £40,000 to Folkestone Sports Centre for equipment for sitting volleyball.

In Dover district, Betteshanger Colliery Welfare Cricket Club will be able to refurbish its nets and storage equipment with its award.

In all, 14 groups in the South East will be benefiting from funding.

It's the first of five funding rounds of Inspired Facilities with the second round opening in February 2012 which offers local groups the chance to bid for a further £10m of funding.
