Absolute majorities are bad for democracy

Have your say!

Dear Editor,
Re:
Folkestone, Hythe and New Romney parking referendum called for December

I welcome the call for a referendum on parking, if it is the only way to oppose this ludicrous idea.

However, it is ironic coming from a party who itself had an absolute majority in Parliament, to vote in its own half-baked schemes which eventually bankrupted the country.

So now we have another absolute majority, with other half-baked schemes doing the same for Shepway.

They never learn, until its too late.

Unfortunately, the majority of Shepway voters will now absolutely pay for their continued indifference to local politics; every time they try to park.

Yours

Dave C
