Business booming at Eurotunnel

News

Eurotunnel has seen the sharpest increase in traffic the company has ever seen in July and August.

The company which manages and operates the Channel Tunnel between Great Britain and France has recorded a 17 per cent increase in tourism traffic.

Eurotunnel says it has transported 533,238 cars, motorcycles and camper vans between Coquelles in Pas-de-Calais and Folkestone in Kent during the two-month period.

“This figure even surpasses the numbers recorded in 1999, when traffic was supported by duty-free,” Eurotunnel said, attributing the success to its shuttle services which run at 10-15 minute intervals daily.
