Out & About

The hunt is on to find the fastest sausage eater in town. But to qualify for the title you need to have four legs, a waggy tail and cold, wet nose.

It is just one of the classes is the Canine Capers day at Hawkinge Community Centre on Saturday (25 September).

Other classes include dog with the waggiest tail, dog with the best trick, best veteran, cutest puppy, best re-homed dog, best child and dog, prettiest bitch and most handsome dog.

As well as dog show classes, there will be stalls, demonstrations, including one by Capel Dog Training Club, free dog healthy checks, advice about dog owning and micro-chipping for only £15.

It is the third Canine Capers event, which is designed to promote responsible dog ownership.

Registration starts at 11am and judging starts at 12noon.
